(ABC 6 News) -- A body was discovered during a search for 15-year-old Noah Graddy of Byron. But at this point, investigators are not saying the body is his.
"Somewhere between Kasson and Byron into Dodge County, they located a body,” said Sheriff Jim Jensen, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities found the body during a search for 15-year-old Noah Graddy who was last seen at a friend’s house in Byron back in January. However, authorities have not confirmed the body they found Thursday is Noah’s.
Friends donated a $1,000 for any information leading to his return. Just a few days ago, we sat down with Noah’s family. "We just want to know he's ok, and there's a lot of people that want to know he's ok,” said Noah’s sister and mom, Savannah Vandenberg and Susan Graddy.
The search for Noah was being done by members of the Kasson Police Department, Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and The Dodge County Sheriff's Office.
We're told the body was found in deep snow, in a rural area between Byron and Kasson. "Just by chance, they came across it,” said Sheriff Jensen.
When asked if there was anything that would indicate foul play, "At this time we don't know, we contacted the medical examiner’s office they came out to because it's a death scene, they conducted their investigation,” said Sheriff Jensen.
An autopsy is being performed for an official cause of death. When asked if family had been notified, Sheriff Jensen said family has been notified. ABC 6 News did reach out to the Graddy family this afternoon, but they did not want to comment.
