(ABC 6 News) - Both family friends and officials confirm the funeral service for Corporal Caleb Erickson will be held Monday in his hometown of Waseca, on Monday at the Grace Lutheran Church at 10:30.

As we've reported, Erickson was killed while serving in Afghanistan. Erickson's family reportedly says he was seated in the gunner's turret on the last truck of a convoy when it was attacked by a suicide bomber on February 28th.

The Waseca Police Department says Erickson's body is due to arrive in town on Saturday, sometime between 3:30 and 4pm. He's being taken to the Dennis Funeral Home. Police expect a large escort and groups like Beyond the Yellow Ribbon are working to line the streets.

A family friend tells ABC 6 News that Erickson was recently promoted from Lance Corporal to Corporal.
