(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Nick Lehr's long wait is finally over.
The Austin Bruins netminder committed Wednesday to the second-ranked team in college hockey - the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
"It's a tremendous honor to be a part of the Gophers. To represent Minnesota is huge," Lehr said.
Lehr has spent the last three seasons with the Bruins, and his .931 save percentage ranks fifth in the NAHL this season.
"The coaching staff here in Austin has done a great job, the fans have been really supportive, and it's just a great community to play in," Lehr said.
