(ABC 6 News) – Three people were arrested in Rochester Friday morning in connection to fake 20 dollar bills.

A Kwik Trip clerk was chatting to a customer about a woman trying to use counterfeit 20 dollar bills around 2am. The clerk then noticed the guy she was chatting with also tried to use a fake $20.  A Rochester Police Officer just happened to be outside by the pump, so the clerk got on the intercom and asked the officer to come inside.

The customer apologized and reached in his wallet for a couple dollars. The officer says that's when he spotted multiple fake dollar bills in the customer's wallet.

That customer, 26-year-old Jack Kluver of Winona, was arrested.

Kluver, however, had been dropped off by a car that left as this was happening. Police tracked down the car using surveillance video and found it parked at the Motel 6 in Rochester.  In plain view, police say they saw a printer and paper cutter in the backseat of the car.

Police then went into the hotel room where the car was registered and found a hypodermic needle and a scale, typically used for drugs. Two more people were arrested there, who already had warrants out for their arrest. Ricky Orr of Winona, age 35, was arrested for a Department of Corrections parole warrant, and Allison Tjossem of Crookston, age 29, had a warrant out from Winona County.

This case is still under investigation.
