(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Say goodbye to conference play in Minnesota high school football.
The Minnesota State High School League voted Thursday to eliminate conferences in 2015, and create new districts that will be made up of 12-18 teams each.
The districts will feature schools of similiar size and location, and it will be up to each group to create an eight-game schedule.
In the past, many teams have complained of long bus rides and uneven scheduling.
The changes only apply to football. No other varsity sport will be affected.
