(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Blizzard conditions have hit parts of southeast Minnesota.

We are getting reports from Albert Lea to Rochester of blowing snow, low visibility and slick roads.  There are also reports of several crashes in the area.

MN/DOT has also just put out a travel advisory in Dodge, Mower, Freeborn, Rice and Steele counties.

ABC 6 Storm Tracker Chief Meterologist Chris Kuball says, "Spotty white outs have been the norm today, quickly changing conditions in any one spot.  Blowing snow and visibility has been at it's lowest when snow showers are passing through.  We'll keep the possibility of white outs in the forecast through this evening, especially in our western counties.

Blowing snow will persist into Friday, but no where near the intensity of Thursday.  There will be sun, but it will also be cold.  Below zero before sunrise with wind chills -10 to -25°.  Temps will continue to rise Friday night.

Another round of snow and wind is due early Saturday morning again complicating things with reduced visibility and blowing snow.  We'll be tracking the timeframe closely."
