(ABC 6 News) -- A group in Rochester is turning "Minnesota nice" into their mission to help troops overseas.
Operation Minnesota Nice met at the American Legion Monday night putting together care packages. Its part of a statewide effort that has led to thousands of soldiers being adopted. The group sends things like snacks, books, and other entertainment and supplies.
"A lot of times their families can't afford to send things or aren't able to so for them to get a package from someone they don't know is really quite a show of support," said Unit Leader Louann Anderson.
The group's next packing event is February 10th at American Legion Post 92 at 6:30 p.m. in Rochester. To learn about Operation Minnesota Nice and how you can help you can visit their website.
