(ABC 6 NEWS) -- As a junior, Kanani Asuncion already has quite the resume.
"She's been starting since she was in 8th grade," Century head coach Chris Stenzel said. "She scored her 1,000th point last year. This season, she will be our all-time leading rebounder."
And with so many different aspects to her game, she's a team's worst nightmare.
"I think my driving ability is one of my biggest strengths, and being able to kick it out and create for my teammates," Asuncion said.
"She can shoot the three, she drives hard to the basket, and she has a beautiful pull-up jump shot," said Stenzel.
Last weekend at the Rotary/US Bank Classic, Kanani showed teams from the city her skill set, averaging 15 points, eight rebounds, and just over four assists per game.
"We've stepped up our game to match these bigger teams. It's definitely tougher competition," said Asuncion.
It's against these tougher teams that the Panthers rely on Kanani the most.
"She is our go-to player, definitely. We'd like her to average 18-20 points this season," said Stenzel.
And she is constantly adding to her game.
"I've been trying to work on other aspects, too, like my pull-up," said Asuncion.
"Most players these days want to shoot a three or they want to drive all the way in, but you have to have a middle game and Kanani definitiely has that; to elevate other people and shoot the ball," said Stenzel.
But Kanani will be the first one to tell you a good passer makes a good player.
"I definitely try and focus on creating for my teammates, and they definitely create for me so it's just getting each other shots, getting each other open," said Asuncion.
