(ABC 6 News) - 16-year-old Lindsey Horejsi, of Albert Lea, just broke the national age group record (15 & 16-year-olds) in the 100 yard breaststroke.

Lindsey is competing at the Junior Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina for Atlantis Swimming. Her record swim came during the 100 meter breaststroke preliminaries today. She finished in 59.75 seconds.

That breaks the previous record of 59.80, set by Megan Jendrick, in 2000. Jendrick went on to win the Olympic Gold Medal that year in the 100 meter breaststroke in Sydney, Australia.

The finals are scheduled for this evening at 4pm Central Time. We'll let you know how Lindsey does.
