The attorney for accused murderer Michael J. Cisneros wants his upcoming trial moved out of Mason City.
Public Defender Letitia Turner was in court this morning to seek a change of venue out of Cerro Gordo County District Court due to pretrial publicity.
Court documents allege Cisneros was the killer of 20 month old John Snyder Jr. in a case that remained open for 19 years.
The toddler went missing June 20th, 1994 and his body was found one day later in Willow Creek near downtown Mason City.
Cisneros was arrested last July after DNA analysis linked him to the child's death.
A trial date for February 17, 2014 has been scheduled.
