Remains Of Minn. Woman Finally Identified

MGN Online

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has made its first identification of previously unidentified remains as part of a statewide project.
The remains of Pearline Roberta Walton were identified using a sample relatives provided earlier this year.
Walton was last seen in Minneapolis in the summer of 1993. She was 22 years old.
A hunter found the Minneapolis woman's remains in Dresser, Wis., in November 1993. The Star Tribune reports it's believed she was murdered.
Polk County, Wis., Sheriff Pete Johnson says identifying Walton's remains is a "very important step" in the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
