Minn. Senate Wants Brodkorb Case Tossed Over Error
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota Senate attorneys want a former aide's lawsuit dismissed because they say the case has been tainted by the release of a list alleging Capitol sexual affairs.
The attorneys filed a federal court motion Thursday seeking to end the case and impose sanctions against Michael Brodkorb and his lawyers. The move stems from a document filed publicly last month that was supposed to remain private due to its sensitive details.
Brodkorb is suing the Senate over his firing after his affair with the Senate majority leader surfaced. Brodkorb contends he was treated differently than staffers in past affairs with lawmakers.
Senate attorney Dayle Nolan argues that a list of other alleged affairs was deliberately released and that potential witnesses may clam up.
Attempts to immediately reach Brodkorb were unsuccessful.
