(ABC 6 News) -- Summer is almost over, but that doesn't mean all the fun has to be.
With the start of school closing in on us, theres one month left to enjoy the sun. And what better way than to take part in a summer day camp with the Rochester Area Family YMCA.
"You get to go on field trips and play games and its fun," says 11-year-old Caleb Sand.
"Kids are obviously in school all the time, and they need to do something fun for the summer, something healthy, we just want to provide that for the community and kids around the area," says Camp Director Andy Carson.
From sports to swimming to science, theres something for everyone.
"Last week, I took part in dance camp," says Sofia Gradilone, "its nice here, I like it."
Take it from 10-year-old Sofia -- she gets it.
"The summer is the best time that you can get active, because in the winter your basically shut inside and you have to keep healthy by staying active, it's been awesome, i'm just really happy, I like it here."
She's already looking forward to taking part in next years summer camps.
"We want to keep their brains engaged so their not sitting there during the summer months not doing anything so when they go back to school its not a huge shock to them," says Carson.
The Rochester YMCA says there is still plenty of room and time to sign up your child for the month of August.
