Fillmore County Relay for Life
(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Fighting cancer was the message of the night Friday in Harmony. It was the 17th annual Relay for Life.
30 teams took part this year with a goal of raising 125,000 dollars. Last year, the Fillmore County Relay for Life brought in nearly 150,000 dollars making it the fifth most successful Relay for Life, for its size, in the entire country.
It wasn't all about walking though. We were there as 13-year-old Corbin Starr shaved his head in honor of his mother Judy.
"She was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 when I was 10. She's a loving mom. She's 49 and about to turn 50. I did this for her," says Corbin.
Mindy Osmonson also got in on the action with her hair. She cut ten inches off to donate to Locks of Love.
ABC 6 News Anchor James Wilcox was one of the co-hosts of the evening.
