Police: Missing Minn. Woman's Body Found in Colo.

A missing Minnesota native's remains have been found near a cabin in Colorado, according to the Wheat Ridge Police Department.

Police say the remains of Leann "Annie" Meyer were found in Park County around 7 p.m. Thursday.

Meyer is from St. Peter, Minn., and went missing in Colorado back in February.

Wheat Ridge Police Department Investigations Commander Dave Pickett said his department was contacted Monday after the Park County Coroner saw an entry in a statewide database that lists missing persons and made the connection between the remains and the Meyer case.

The cause of death has not yet been determined. Pickett said the remains were found in a very rural area and that there had been "significant animal activity."

“We recognize this has been difficult and a trying time for Annie’s family,” Wheat Ridge Police Chief Dan Brennan said. “On behalf of the Wheat Ridge Police Department, the city and the community, we would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the family of Annie Meyers. The family remains in our thoughts and prayers as we continue this investigation.”

Police say they wanted to question Meyer's roommate but she has refused and obtained a lawyer.
