(ABC 6 NEWS) -- On the Albert Lea baseball roster, number ten is listed as Johnathan Fleek. But to those who know him and play with him, he's Henry - and Henry is one good ball player.
"He's a very strong competitor, very good baseball smarts, great arm, covers a great deal of the shortstop area," head coach Joe Sczublewski described him.
Fleek's been on the Tiger's varsity squad since he was a ninth grader. He's become a vital player on the team as just a junior, especially at shortstop, his favorite place to play.
"Just fielding balls, I like that better," Fleek said about playing short.
"You have to be quick on your feet to be a good infielder and he certainly does that. He's got take charge personality," said Sczublewski.
But it was this performance on the mound against John Marshall last week that shows the raw baseball talent Henry has. The Tigers won that game against the defending Big 9 champs.
"I was basically just trying to get pitches over the plate and then let my team make the outs for me," Fleek said.
"He's got great range and a solid baseball mind," said Sczublewski.
Henry's not much of a talker, but he is a presence on the field. And he just can't get enough of the game.
"It's something new every time," he described.
