McKay & Kane Carstens
(ABC 6 NEWS) -- McKay and Kane Carstens are identical twins.
"They're two peas in a pod, identical twins, they always wear the same clothes, don't say much, pretty quiet kids, but they're really fun to have around," said Lourdes head coach Mike Kesler.
Born just a minute apart, they are inseparable, and unstoppable, especially on the football field.
"Being on the same team and doing the same stuff it's great, it's just great, it's just like another part of me," said McKay.
McKay is the Eagles starting fullback, while Kane takes on the role of starting tailback. The identical twins have almost identical stats, too. Both of them have over 700 yards rushing this season and touchdowns in the double-digits.
"What separates them is their speed," said Kesler. "They anchored our 4X200 meter state championship team in track last spring as sophomores, so it tells you what kind of speed they have. Speed is something you can't coach."
But what really makes them unique is their unmatched bond. Sibling rivalry? Forget about it.
"Some people are like, 'you have to hate each other sometimes,' but I don't get that feeling," said McKay. "Whatever we do, we make each other better."
In fact, it's pretty incredible to see how tight they truly are.
"I love having that second part of me with me all the time," said Kane. "He's my buddy I can be with anywhere."
The Eagles will try and keep their state title hopes alive this Friday night. And it's guaranteed that numbers 30 and 31 will be side by side the whole time.
