Vadnais Heights Dog Gets Head Stuck in Fishbowl

It’s even worse than being caught with your hand in a cookie jar – a Vadnais Heights woman’s puppy was caught with its head in a fishbowl, and it was caught on camera.

Lisa Gilliland-Herringer was at the Wargo Nature Center in Lino Lakes on Wednesday, Oct. 10, where she works as a program supervisor. She brought her three-month-old yellow Labrador, Lucy, to the center with her.

While she was in a meeting, a staff member noticed Lucy run past them with a bowl on her head.

The puppy was nervous at first, but once someone held her she calmed down.

“She was very calm and had plenty of air, so it wasn’t like she was suffocating,” Gilliland-Herringer said. “My first thought was, ‘What a silly dog. How are we going to get this off?’ We didn’t want to break the bowl.”

One person ran to get Crisco from the kitchen while another person snapped a photo of Lucy’s shame.

Before the Crisco was necessary, they were able to slip one of Lucy’s ears out of the bowl, and eventually her whole head was freed.
