Minneapolis Considers Using Goats in War Against Buckthorn
The City of Minneapolis is considering an unusual weapon in the the war against buckthorn.
The Minneapolis Park Board is thinking about using a herd of goats to keep grass trimmed and invasive species like buckthorn at bay. Minneapolis Park Board Commissioner Brad Bourn proposed the idea. Bourn says you can rent a herd of goats for two dollars an hour and they can clear an acre of buckthorn in a matter of days.
Other cities like Cleveland have used goats to get id of buckthorn. The park board still has to vote on the idea.
