Early Morning Blaze Destroys Brooklyn Park Home

Firefighters battled a house fire in Brooklyn Park early Thursday morning.

Officials say the fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. on the 10000 block of Georgia Avenue North.

The gusty wind fanned the flames, and the house was engulfed when firefighters arrived. The wind also caused the fire to spread to the grass and brush behind the home.

The family of three escaped uninjured. Two neighboring houses were also damaged by the fire.

The cause is still under investigation.
