Aase gives verbal to Davidson

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Austin senior Joe Aase has committed to play basketball at Davidson College in North Carolina.

The six-seven forward chose Davidson over ten other Division I schools.

"They're a very good academic school. They're ranked in the top ten liberal arts colleges in America," Aase said. "Their basketball program is very good. They made the NCAA Tournament last year and they should be the favorites in the conference this year."

Aase visited Davidson a couple weeks ago, and he wasted no time in choosing the Wildcats.

"I originally wanted to have my decision made by November, but I just realized Davidson is the right place and there's no reason to drag it out if you know," Aase said.

The committment won't become official until Aase signs a letter of intent, which can't happen until Nov. 14.
