Tyler Shaw
(ABC 6 NEWS) -- "I don't know what (the record) is yet because my coach hasn't told me," Albert Lea forward Tyler Shaw said.
Shaw has a goal that involves ... goals.
"He asked me to do some research on what the Albert Lea high school goal scoring record for a player is and I know that's his goal," said head coach Joe Squires. "And it's not for selfish reasons, he just knows that it's the path he needs to take to help this team move along in the team's goals."
Shaw is already on his way. He was last year's team leader in goals, and picked up where he left off in the Tigers first game against Waseca Friday by scoring two second half goals to beat the Bluejays.
"It was nice to start the first game out with a couple of goals," said the senior captain, "it just gives me confidence for the next game."
With the way Tyler plays the game, he should have no problem reaching his goal.
"I see him scoring many goals this season, having fun, leading in positive ways and always having that smile on his face, that little smirk that tells you he's going to be able to accomplish it," said Coach Squires.
