Email to a FriendName Announced for New Austin Intermediate School
(ABC 6 News) -- The Austin School Board has decided what it thinks should be the name of the new intermediate school.
A committee narrowed a list of 100 names down to five finalists. They included I-J Holton, Evergreen, Maria Vaughn, George A. Hormel, and Ralph Holman. Of those, the board selected former Hormel Foods Executive I-J Holton. The board will take public input for 90 days before making the decision final.
The school will house 5th and 6th graders. Construction is going on right now right behind Ellis Middle School. It will be ready for students for the 2013 and 2014 school year.
