Ice Hawks play vintage baseball
(ABC 6 NEWS) -- It's not every day you get the chance to watch baseball the way it was played in the late 1800s.
Saturday though, the Rochester Ice Hawks had the chance to watch and play some vintage baseball!! The hockey players showed their skills on the diamond, taking on the Rochester Roosters.
The Roosters are a vintage baseball team that plays on Schmitt field at the History Center of Olmstead County.
This is the second year the Ice Hawks have come out to play the old-timers game. And it is without a doubt team bonding at its fullest.
“We have been together about a week now, the guys came into town last Friday” said Ice Hawks head coach and Rooster player Nick Fatis. "We've been beating them up pretty good for the last week, so this was a good opportunity to get out and do something physical and not be yelled at the whole time."
