Rochester's City Council President Dennis Hanson Has Passed Away
(ABC 6 NEWS) - Rochester City Council President Dennis Hanson passed away.
City Councllman, Ed Hruska, says he was notified by Hanson's family of his passing around 4:45 Wednesday afternoon.
Mayor Ardell Brede told ABC 6 News that while Hanson suffered the aneurysm early Wednesday morning, Hanson was an organ donor and was being kept on life support pending organ donation.
Hruska wouldn't go into the details of the organ donation, but said that's the kind of person Denny was, always looking out for the other guy.
Hanson had recently announced he was seeking re-election to the council. He was elected to represent the 1st Ward in 1999.
Hanson grew up in Rochester and graduated from Mayo High School. He was employed as Vice President of Business Development at Carpet One. He is survived by his wife, six children, and six grandchildren.
