Woman Buys Pants at Goodwill, Finds Treasure in Pocket
A woman in search of a bargain found something she never expected, and now she needs your help to find the owner.
Deb Thompson likes flashy clothes.
"She (daughter) thinks I'm too old to wear bling, but what the heck, you only live once," Thompson said.
Thompson also likes a good deal.
"I bought them for $3.99," Thompson said.
Thompson bought a pair of blinged out capris at Goodwill in Coon Rapids.
Once she got home she made a discovery.
"I put my hand in the right pocket and I felt something," Thompson said.
Deep down in the right front pocket was a ring.
"I opened my hand and we both went, wow!" Thompson said.
Thompson and 5 EYEWITNESS News cameras went to R.F. Moeller Jewelers in St. Paul to have the ring appraised.
"The diamond is a diamond in the center, and the sides are all diamonds, so you do have something for sure!" Michael West said.
After a closer look the ring is estimated between $5,000 and $6,500.
Thompson's find in her capris could make her a lot of cash, but she does not want the prize. She wants to find the owner.
"I need to find the owner, and I'd love to hear the story of how it got in there," Thompson said.
To find the finger where it belongs means we cannot show you every detail because Thompson wants to make sure whoever calls is not a phony.
If you know who the ring belongs to, you can go to the Goodwill Easter Seals Facebook page and send them a message. For more information, click here: http://www.facebook.com/GoodwillMinnesota
