Minneapolis/Saint Paul, MN -- The Society of Professional Journalists honored Hubbard Broadcasting with its prestigious Historic Site in Journalism Award this past Friday, June 26, 2009. This is the first time the SPJ Award has been presented in Minnesota. Each year, the SPJ honors one news organization, person or landmark of national interest that played important roles in American journalistic history. The Historic Sites award program began in 1942.
"This award really goes to my father, he was the innovator who started it all," Stanley S. Hubbard, CEO of Hubbard Broadcasting told the group gathered at the award ceremony. Hubbard continued, "On behalf of my whole family, I say thank you, thank you, thank you, we are just gratified and thankful from the bottom of our hearts and honored and pleased. Thank you very much."
