All About Bill:
Bill has been in broadcasting for over 30 years in Rochester the last 15 in TV at ABC 6 News. In 2009, Bill was promoted to Local Sales Manager. He has also done sports play by play and written a local sports column. He and his wife Jeanne have been married for 31 years. They have 3 children, Bob (married to Wendy) who works in Finance for Thompson-Reuters in Minneapolis. Shelly (married to Mike) is a Nurse Practitioner for Gunderson Lutheran in Onalaska, WI. And finally, Stephanie, a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota who works in Human Resources for Green Tree Financial. You'd never know they are his kids Bill says, they have their Mother's looks and brains. The family's Australian shepherd "Jake" however does bear a strong resemblance to Bill.
I want to lead the best sales staff in the market. To accomplish that, training needs to be ongoing and learning about the market must be a day in and day out occurrence. Not only do we analyze the Nielsen rating book, but we also analyze Rentrak data on a daily basis. There is always something new and exciting to learn in the world of television.

Bill once won a 10 event college "Superstars" athletic contest. (Without cheating!) Bill loves sports and politics and watches ABC shows like Castle, Nashville, Scandal and Revenge.

Chris is Minnesota born, Mankato to be exact. His family moved to Blooming Prairie where he graduated High School. He then went off to college at Drake University and received his BSBA degree. Chris then headed back to Minnesota and worked for IBM in Minneapolis, Des Moines and Omaha for 11 years before joining ABC 6 KAAL TV. Chris worked as an account executive before being promoted to National Sales Manager in August of 2007. Chris is married and keeps quite busy with his four children.
Chris's secret to success it to listen to clients, ask questions, and listen some more. In addition, Chris believes in understanding his own (ever changing) product so well that he can deliver the best plan to accomplish his client's goals every time. In IBM-speak it was called being customer-driven.

Chris sang with a diocesan choir for the Des Moines visit of Pope John Paul II in October 1983.

Jean spent 21+ years at IBM in various administrative/tech support positions. In 2003 she came to KAAL where she works as an office administrator.
She has been married 23 years to her husband Jeff, and has two sons; Lucas and Logan. She lives in a wooded subdivision outside of Elgin MN where she loves to work in the garden. Her family likes to canoe, play ping pong and play baseball and kickball in their back yard. They have a pet dog, cat, and a RAT! They try to vacation in Seattle, WA at least once every two years, as Jeff is originally from the Pacific NW and still has many relatives there. This year their entire family attended their second trip to the Indianapolis 500.

Jessica began with the company in the Rochester office and then headed to the deep south of the DMA - Northern IA and Southern MN in 2005. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Jon Berry, and they have two beautiful daughters, Madison and Kenedie.
Jessica prides herself in her knowledge of the industry and by serving as a consultant for her clients to ensure that all components of their advertising are working together. Her primary goal is to think "outside the box" and to be innovative!

Ann previously worked in radio for Three Eagles Communications in Albert Lea as an account manager for KATE/KCPI Radio. Ann graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a degree in broadcast journalism and completed an internship with WCCO Television. Once in the real world, Ann opted to pursue the advertising side of television. Ann grew up in Wells and has 2 busy boys.
Ann says, "It's not about selling a product - it's about getting to know your client's needs, then working with them to co-manage a marketing plan that will provide them with success."

Jay was born and raised in central Indiana. Since graduating from Ball State University with a degree in Radio and TV, Jay as worked as a television news anchor for WLFI-TV in Lafayette, Indiana, WAOW-TV in Wausau, Wisconsin, WKBT-TV in La Crosse, Wisconsin and WIBP-TV in Muncie, Indiana. He also sold cable television advertising for five years and broadcast television sales for five years. He has lived in Harmony, MN for 20 years with his wife Zo. They have three sons, Jacob, Zachary and Logan..
Jay has been a guest lecturer at Purdue, Ball State, Anderson and Winona State Universities. He has also spoken to numerous business groups and Chambers of Commerce on the topic "How to Market Your Business." He believes each business has unique marketing needs. Marketing to your customer is never a "One Size Fits All" proposition. Jay enjoys meeting with business owners and business marketers to develop individualized plans to grow and promote their businesses.

Jay loves Halloween and is the Chairman of the "Monster Bash" Haunted House. The Monster Bash is a fundraising event, which benefits the Fillmore Central Music Department. He also enjoys making homemade wine.

Shelly was born and raised in Spring Valley, MN. It was a wonderful place to grow up and small town values were a good basis for a solid future. She attended University of Minnesota Rochester, and majored in Fashion Merchandising. After living and working in the optical field for ten years, Shelly moved to Minneapolis area and lived for 18 years. Shelly has been working as a territory manager for eyewear sales covering up to five states for the past sixteen years. She is very excited to return to the Rochester area to reclaim her roots, and be close to her family and lifelong friends. Shelly has one grown son, Ross, who has also returned to the Rochester area recently and looking forward to new adventures as well. And last but not least, Shelly has a dog named Violet, named after her Mom.
I feel small town values in life have carried me a long way, but the excitement of big business has guided my passion in sales.
